Print2Skype update:
I am testing the print2Skype option of our printer driver. I have included a screenshot. Its pretty simple:
1.)Connect to your Skype session
2.)Select the receipients of the printed output.
3.)Press the print button.

Scan2FusePad
I am currently testing a multipage tiff scan module that will work with any twain scanner and includes adf feeder capability with the option to scan to pdf or multipage tiff.
In the first release , Scan2FusePad will allow you to scan directly to your remote storage or to a local file, similar to Print2FusePad.
In later versions, I want to give users the ability to index their documents with custom templates. In my experience with other document imaging systems (Captiva, FileNet, and Documentum), the ability to create and search custom indexing templates was a high priority.

FusePad PDF Printer Driver Released
The free pdf printer driver has been released. It works on both xp and vista. There are currently 2 options: Print2File and Print2FusePad.
I am considering a 3rd option for printing directly to Skype users; However, I am currently neck deep in development of a backup solution for FusePad.
I have decided to make the backup option both online (backup directly to online storage) and to dvd and cd using using UDF (Universal Disk Format). This will give you maximum flexibility with cd and dvd drives and make it VERY SIMPLE for end users. Just stick in a dvd or cd and click backup.

Left navbar update:
I am currently updating the left navbar of FusePad with an outlook stye navbar.
As you can see, there is a new option on the left nav: Online Backups
I am currently working on upgrading the FusePad software services to include backup, which is a natural progression for the software.
Some of the backup serice features:
The ability to control backup scheduling for multiple machines from one FusePad account.
Asynchronous service to run backups in the background.
256 bit encryption.
Access to backups at the file level, meaning you can just copy one file out of a given backup without restoring the entire job.
Remote file storage still functions in the same manner, just double click a file, edit it , and save it back to the online storage.
Look for more details soon.

The printer driver is coming along. I am testing printing to remote document storage and am looking at adding a little more functionality to the whole "free printer driver" for pdfs. The printer driver will be free of charge and allow you to print to either your local drive, or your FusePad remote document storage.
I am also modifying the left nav bar of the main window in FusePad. This will become an outlook style nav bar with the following options:
View (your .box file view)
Local (your local drive)
Remote (your remote document storage)
Backups (your remote backups)

Full text search capability for pdf, doc, xls, and many other file formats is now live.
You can now create research databases out of a single FusePad .box file.
It's as easy as 1,2,3:
1.) Just import your documents into a file cluster and they are fully indexed when importing.
2.) Click the "Find" button and enter a search string, and viola, you have your results right away.
3.) Double click the result and it will launch the file in its native application.

I will also have a second printer driver that will allow you to print directly to skype users. There will be two tabs when the dialog pops, one for printing to skype, one for printing to fusepad. You can do one or both.
The print2skype interface will be a wizard style that is easy to use, show your contacts in a nice list format, and allows you to print any printable content directly to anyone in skype.
